Options below are grouped by time recommended to deliver a quality result. Any option can be tailored to your research or project needs.

Projects are based on the rate of $75 per hour.

Client Package Options

  • Ancestor Biography Package

    Project starts at ten hours for $750. This would work well for a research report or family narrative focused on one ancestor.

  • Research Report Package

    Examples of projects that would need to start with an investment of at least twenty hours for $1,500:

    *Family History or Narrative of an ancestor couple, along with their siblings and children.

    *Immigration exploration

    *Online documentation searches in countries outside the United States.

    *Basic DNA sorting

  • VIP Immersive Package

    For the family historian who wants more of an immersive experience than a written report. This experience is built around spending 1-2 day (live) with a professional genealogist (via Zoom) who will help coach you further along on your brick wall journey, work with you on your DNA results or really dial in on a family story. A VIP Immersive experience would include twenty hours of the genealogist preparing for and summing up your experience, and eight hours of live interaction with you on your project.

  • In-Depth Project Retainer Agreement

    Customizable retainer packages are a great option to stay in a prioritized position ahead of newer contracts. Retainer agreements will always be worked on first each month. Retainers are great for budgeting ongoing research questions, multiple generations, in-depth DNA analysis. Client would maintain control over how long the project continues.

    Please note, DNA analysis can easily take 40-plus hours ($3,000+) to conduct proper verification.

Presentation and Workshop Options

(Basic presentations and workshops begin at $100, plus mileage. Additional topics can be tailored for your group, as can additional settings such as retreats.)

  • Basics of Genealogy Research

    Genealogy is a fun and important way to preserve who we are, where we’ve been and how we got here.  Documentation and verification are the two keys to providing evidence of our family history.  This presentation will explore research techniques and resources that can help you dig into your family tree.  Overviews of free and subscription websites, helpful documents to chase, and recommended software will be discussed.

  • Diving into Census Records

    Census records can offer much more than simply who lived where, when.  Many census questionnaires asked varying questions from one decade to another that may surprise you.  Developing the skill of reading the details of these documents may just help you break through your brick wall.  Learn how to search them with a variety of techniques may improve your results.

  • Introduction to Genetic Genealogy: DNA inheritance patterns, research techniques, ethics

    Learn about the field of genetic genealogy and its basic application to your ancestry research.  The presentation will include an explanation of what genetic genealogy is, the basics of DNA inheritance patterns and basic techniques of using DNA matches in genealogy.  Ethical concerns will also be discussed.

  • Scandinavian Research Techniques

    Explore research techniques and resources to may help further your research of Norwegian ancestors before, during and after their immigration to the United States.
